Hello, everyone, nice to meet you. My name is Rick L., and I'm happy to be teaching this course. I'm from the UK, and I'm a professor in the Department of English Language & Literature at the Prefectural University of Kumamoto. I live in Kumamoto City with my wife and one daughter (the other daughter is away at university).
My field is applied linguistics, and I'm especially interested in sociocultural theory, writing, and computer-assisted language learning.
In my free time, I like reading novels, watching movies, and playing table tennis.
I'm looking forward to working with you over these three days.
Your english is so beautiful. I fall in love.
ReplyDeleteOh, you are from the UK? I like listening to music, especially Oasis.
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteI love UK very well because my favorite rock musicians are from UK.
Especially, I like the The Beatles, Oasis, blur, David Bowie, and so on.
Akinori and Yukiho, I'm glad to hear you know some older British music. I like Oasis, David Bowie, and The Beatles, too. I also like 1970's progressive rock.
DeleteI also listen to very famous 70s progressive rock band like Pink Floyd, Yes, or King Crimson. Especially I often listen to "Wish you were here" and "The Wall" by Pink Floyd and "Fragile" by yes.
DeleteI'm glad to take your class.
ReplyDeleteI want to be good at writing English.
Please tell me what do you think that it is important things about writing?
I think reading English books and writing book reviews (including a long quotation, copied carefully!) is the best way. Writing a book review helps you to absorb some of the language in the book, gradually raising your level.
